The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) congratulates Professor Jinde Cao, a distinguished mathematician and Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (FAAS), on his election as a Foreign Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Polska Akademia Nauk – PAN), one of the most prestigious scientific honours conferred by the Republic of Poland.
Prof Cao, an Endowed Chair Professor at Southeast University, China, was elected in recognition of his exceptional contributions to science and engineering and his extensive and sustained research collaborations with Polish scientists.
Election to the Polish Academy of Sciences is regarded as one of the highest lifetime distinctions awarded by the Polish government to scholars whose research has had a profound international impact. The honour recognizes not only scientific excellence but also the strengthening of global scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Prof Cao is internationally renowned for his pioneering work in applied mathematics, control theory, neural networks, complex systems, and dynamical systems. His research has advanced the theoretical foundations and practical applications of intelligent systems, with significant influence across engineering, information technology, and computational sciences. Over the course of his career, he has published extensively in leading scientific journals and mentored numerous researchers who have gone on to make important contributions in academia and industry.
A key factor in his election was his long-standing collaboration with Polish researchers and institutions, which has contributed to major advances in mathematics and engineering while fostering strong scientific ties between Asia and Europe.
As a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, Prof Cao exemplifies the Academy’s mission to recognize and celebrate excellence in science across the globe. His election to PAN underscores the global stature of AAS Fellows and highlights the importance of international collaboration in addressing complex scientific and technological challenges.
